Welcome to the Beinn Mhor competitions page. Like any site, this page will continue to grow. Revisit this page from time to time and see what's new.
Built 12 years ago for John Cockburn by ourselves, this car has not had an easy life.
It is a combination of the front halfs of 2 Range Rover chassis welded
together to give a light but strong base on which to build the roll cage
and body. Running a rear engine configuration it was originally built for
a 3500cc V8 and a 5 spd manual gearbox, but has undergone various modification
over the years from manual to auto and from carbs to EFi she now runs a
standard 3.9 EFi engine with a DTA
ECU and a modified Torqueflight 727 automatic gearbox.
The front axle has survived the years having been well strengthened
to start with and runs a 4 pin diff (3.54) .
The rear axle is a Discovery axle strengthened and fitted with a True
Trac LSD.
Both front and rear axles run Ashcroft
shafts.
Bodywork comprises L/R outer panels mounted on the basic frame to look
like a lowered 90.
